About My Life is Poetry
My Life is Poetry is an autobiographical poetry workshop for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer seniors.
Our initial writing group, started three years ago, was a tremendous success. The writings of the orginal 16-week workshop were complied into an anthology My Life is Poetry, edited by Steven Reigns, portraits by Jenny Walters, and preface by Dorothy Allison. Below is a short video about the orginal workshop: There is a new class starting January 9, 2010. Expect a supportive environment where you can freely write your stories. You don't need to like poetry, or writing, or reading. You don't need to know the rules of grammar, or spelling, or have a large vocabulary. All you need is to show up to class.
